Traveling is one of the greatest things in life. You see new places, meet people from other cultures, taste different food, etc., and last but not least, have fun. The following list shows some of my trips in the past few years.

2001

Istanbul (January 1-4): Another cheap flight ticket from wife allowed us to visit Turkey's metropole Istanbul.

2000

Europe (November-December): Due to my wife's former position as a Swissair flight attendant, I had the chance to discover some European cities almost for free. I went to Prague (Czeck Republic), Warshaw (Poland), Izmir (Turkey), Athens (Greece), and Berlin (Germany).

Seychelles (October 5-20): our honeymoon took us to one of the greatest places on earth. If you have ever dreamed of perfect beaches of white sand and surrounded by palm trees, go the the Seychelles. It's an expensive place, but absolutely worth. Here are some links:

Sevilla, Spain (September): Hoping to improve my poor Spanish, I went to the Capital of the Flamenco to take classes. Did it help? Here is the link to my school:

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (August): The beauty of this city is just incredible. It's also great to meat warm-hearted poeple. Go there!!!

Annapolis, MD, USA (March): We had a great time visiting our friend Elaine, Rob & Sasha in their hometown Annapolis.

1999

Marocco (December): Leaving the plane in Marrakesh after a short 3 hours flight from Geneva was amazing. Everything is totally different. And the countryside is beautiful, very similiar to Arizona or New Mexico.

Northern Europe (July-August): This was a trip to Europe's most northern point, the North Cape. It took us to Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Estonia. Unfortunately, our old VW Golf didn't come back...Photos: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]

1998

Cape Verde (June-July): This trip took us to my borther's wedding on the Cape Verde island. It's a great place for hiking. Traveling is sometimes difficult, but fun. Photos: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8]

1997

Lanzarote, Spain (December): Although it's a touristic place, Lanzarote hace nice spots to discover.Photos: [1], [2]

South East Asia (June-July): We traveled from Bali to Java, Singapore and Tioman Island (Malysia). There are many amazing places to visit, but the wet heat of South Asia makes you lazy. Nevertheless, we climbed two vulcanos, Mt. Bromo and another one close to Yogjakarta.Photos: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]

Florida, USA (June-July): A conference on Sanibel Island was a perfect opportunity to discover Florida. The place we recommend is called Key West, but Miami is also nice.Photos: [1]

1996

South Africa (June-July): Our dreams of Africa came true on our trip from Cape Town to Lesotho, Swazyland, Krueger Park, and Jo'burg. There were many highlights, but the greatest thing was the visit of our frineds Cobus and Dalene Zietsman on their farm near Clocolan.Photos: [1], [2], [3], [4], [5]

1994

USA (December): I met my friends Ege and Nobi in Phoenix (Arizona). We had so much fun on our trip up to San Francisco...

South East Asia (April): My sister joined me on our trip to Bali, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. The absolute highlight was an island called Pulau Kapas close to Malaysia's east coast. This tiny island is just incredible, and probably the best place on earth for snorkeling.

1993

Peru (July): This was a very special trip. Its goal was to study projects of development and took us to many places completely unknown by tourist.

1992

USA (April): My sister and I went to explore America's southwest on out first trip ouside Europe. It was the typical route: SF, LA, San Diego, Gran Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, Arches NP, and Mesa Verde NP. We finally ended up in Waco (Texas), where our brother used to live.
