IAM Historical Document Database (IAM-HistDB)

Overview

The IAM-HistDB is a repository of data sets that contain handwritten historical manuscript images together with ground truth data for training and testing automatic handwriting recognition systems.

Data Sets

The IAM-HistDB repository currently includes the following data sets:

• Saint Gall Database - 9th century, Latin

• Parzival Database - 13th century, German
• Washington Database - 18th century, English

Registration

Before you download one of the IAM-HistDB data sets, we ask you to register so we are aware of who is using our data. Once registered you can download any of the data sets.

Terms of Use

The IAM-HistDB data sets may be used for non-commercial research and teaching purposes only.
